Lolwhat? Ha, I was certainly not expecting that! But if I'm associated with elven prettyboys, I think I can live with that. XD Although I have to say, I liked him better in the book, where he was kind of a know-it-all, ADD-afflicted twit. In the movie he was mostly just eye-candy. Except for the shield-surfing. That's pretty rad.
2) Anime
I'm not addicted! I could stop any time I want! I just... do not want? I appreciate anime as an artistic form and as entertainment. Miyazaki is on the list of my top ten favourite human beings ever, and I'm seriously in love with Death Note and both FMA series. I also think it's pretty nifty, culturally, how in the west cartoons are generally viewed as 'kiddy stuff' and thus never given much attention - while in Japan, even though there are many series aimed at a younger audience, there are also those targeting an adult or young adult market - and even those which are marketed towards children tend to receive a greater depth and attention to detail than their western counterparts. 3) Octopi
The plural of octopus is technically 'octopodes,' as octopus comes from Greek rather than Latin. However, octopuses and octopi, while both incorrect, have passed into common parlance and are thus acceptable for use around people who aren't classics studies majors. As for the animals themselves, they are remarkably intelligent beings, with something of a natural curiosity and playfulness unexpected of something so alien-looking. Also of note: they can change their skin colour like a chameleon, compress their bodies to a mere fraction of their size, have horizontal pupils, and some species shoot ink - a different colour from squid ink. Their eight appendages are not tentacles but rather arms. And the blue-ringed octopus, who despite being small (think golf ball) and docile is a complete badass - it could kill you and twenty-five of your closest frienemies without batting an eyelid. They also look freaking amazing. Incidentally, octopodes are my favourite animals, and I plan to get a big ol' tattoo of one (possibly gardening) across my lower abdomen/pelvis.

5) Jack - (as in Captain)
I've never met a Captain Jack I didn't like. It's awesomely fun to be able to run around acting like a cocky asshole. And, I mean, John Barrowman. Johnny Depp. Yeah. Also, one of my earliest cosplays. Also, gives me hope for society that we can have a camp pirate in a Disney movie and an openly-pansexual main character on Doctor Who.
